Laurel Galford, LCSW, LICSW (She/Her)

Staff Therapist

Laurel is passionate about therapy and coaching as a means to explore the deepest parts of yourself and challenge any beliefs that no longer serve you. Laurel believes therapy is a dynamic process and wants to help you wherever you are in your healing journey.

Her Bachelor’s degree in Women’s Studies and Humanities from the University of New Hampshire, served as a solid foundation for understanding the intersectionality of identities and how the sociopolitical landscape can impact an individual. Laurel’s Masters in Social Work from Simmons University, furthered her interest in social justice and helped her develop a trauma-informed lens to her work.

As a queer clinician, Laurel is passionate about exploring how the queer identity impacts and liberates us, as it is diverse, expansive and ever-changing. She feels strongly that her queer identity helps her see the unlimited potential in our relationships to others, the world around us, and would love to help you see this too.

As a relational provider, Laurel believes that fostering a connection between the provider and client is a central aspect of the therapeutic process. Laurel wants to know, how can she support you and connect with you? What do you wish to gain from therapy or coaching?

Laurel takes a holistic approach to her practice, and hopes through the use of humor and self-compassion, that we can find space for joy and kindness in our healing journey. She fully believes in the inherent strengths and expertise all clients possess, and wants to help you thrive in ways that feel your best! What makes you, you?

Laurel is experienced in issues such as LGBTQIA+ identities, relationship work, anxiety and depression, PTSD, and stress management. Laurel uses Relational-Cultural Theory, EMDR, CBT, and Psychodynamic Therapy, with a focus on wellness in our day-to-day lives.

Laurel practices therapy in California and Massachusetts, and offers coaching anywhere.
