Brendan Yukins, LSW, CST (He/Him)
Staff Therapist
Thank you for taking the first step towards a happier, healthier life - you are making the important decision to support yourself. Brendan’s background is in sexual and domestic violence. He believes trauma affects us physically, emotionally, and spiritually. By establishing safety, remembering, and grieving, we are able to reconnect with our current lives. Our mental health has physical effects. Working with individuals, couples, and families, Brendan focuses on the damage chronic stress has on the body as well as the mind. Our nervous system is not able to absorb the impact of trauma alone. We can find healing through relationships and through community. Together, we can find a path forward for you and your loved ones.
In session, Brendan uses talk therapy, ecotherapy, and mindfulness. Brendan encourages all of his clients to interact with Nature, but he is also comfortable operating within a traditional therapy room. His areas of expertise include sexuality, gender, life transition, body dysmorphia, healthy sexuality after sexual violence, complex trauma, polyamorous relationships, kink & BDSM, anxiety, and depression. Brendan believes we have the power to cultivate peace within ourselves and within our chosen family, and he aims to support you and your loved ones as you figure out how.
Brendan practices therapy in Illinois and offers coaching anywhere.
