Bishop is a Non-Binary, Black Femme with experience working with Queer/Trans individuals in behavioral health and programmatic settings. Born and raised in Detroit MI, Bishop attended Michigan State University where they received their Bachelors in Psychology with a minor in LGBT Studies. They then went to receive their Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Child and Family Therapy from Erikson Institute in Chicago IL.
Specializing in working with Queer/Trans BIPOC, communities, Bishop utilizes client-centered psychotherapy rooted in a psychodynamic approach, which explores the entire individual, including past/childhood, familial and intimate relationships, current life structures, hopes and dreams. Bishop believes that in order for behavioral change and healing to occur, we must first understand what in our lives have led us to this point.
Bishop is passionate about providing therapy that is sex positive, kink aware, affirming of ethical non-monogamy, and honors clients' sexual/physical/emotional desires.
